This series will highlight my weekly journey through previously released films, whether they are rewatches for me or new discoveries. Here are my picks:    

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (2016)

Is My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 the freshest of movie sequels? Absolutely not. But is it still a charming and fun time with the Portokalos family? Most certainly. Nia Vardalos brings some new parenting storylines to the story as Toula’s daughter attempts to separate and get away from her overbearing Greek family. Then we find out Gus and Maria were never officially married! Plenty of emotion and chaos to go around for this lean little comedy for sure. But this stacked cast of Greek actors (and John Corbett) bring the goods again with plenty of silly cultural jokes and some honest and authentic emotion too. This is one of the most unexpected franchises of all time and we are lucky for all the smiles that the Portokalos clan brings to our lives for sure.
