The Wasteland List: Most Anticipated Films of 2025

Who doesn’t love a good list? We love the process of looking through our favorite things and ordering them and putting them in a list. Being able to look through your favorite films and shouting them out is a great feeling. Now it is time for The Wasteland Watchlist!

Most Anticipated Films of 2025

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

If this is it…I need to be there because this is one of the greatest action franchises ever created (but also one of the greatest franchises of all time…period).

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina

John Wick is the coolest world in film right now and I cannot wait to see Ana de Armas take the reins in this franchise.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig can make films about Benoit Blanc for the rest of their lives…and I will watch them immediately whenever they release.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Wallace & Gromit is one of the most charming series of all time and that dastardly penguin is back…so am I.

Predator: Badlands

The Predator franchise is in a truly fresh and great period right now and I am ready for whatever story they have after Prey.

28 Years Later

Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are back together, and that trailer promises a downright terrifying cinematic experience.

Sinners

Ryan Coogler…Michael B. Jordan…a vampire hunter flick influenced by anime…that is a winner right there.

The Running Man

Edgar Wright is going to take on an iconic Stephen King novel and take it back to the source with that “Edgar Wright” flair.

Wick: For Good

“Defying Gravity” is still stuck in my head, and I need the finale…yesterday.

Captain America: Brave New World

Captain America led my favorite comic book trilogy, and I am ready for Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson to take the mantle and go toe-to-toe with the Red Hulk and The Leader.

Mickey 17

Bong Joon Ho…Robert Pattinson…sci-fi…yes please.

Wolf Man

Leigh Whannell killed it with The Invisible Man, and it is time for him to take on Wolf Man.

Paddington in Peru

Paddington 2 was pure cinema and despite King leaving, we still get Paddington AND Antonio Banderas.

The Life of Chuck

Mike Flanagan has my faith in any project that includes The Life of Chuck.

Trey Parker & Matt Stone Musical

It does not matter what the subject matter is…this is going to be perfect and infinitely hilarious.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

We need a GOOD The Fantastic Four film and I have my faith and hope in Kevin Feige to make it happen.

Thunderbolts*

These characters are a lot of fun and Florence Pugh is a superstar…so yes please.

Superman

Bring on the new DCU and Rachel Brosnahan was born to be Lois Lane (I love her)!

The Smashing Machine

A24 and Dwayne Johnson is portraying MMA fighter Mark Kerr as he guns for an Oscar AND it is directed by a Safdie brother…yes!

The Legend of Ochi

A24 takes on an awesome fantasy premise with an adorable creature to fall in love with…you have my attention.

Frankenstein

Guillermo del Toro doing a Frankenstein adaptation is one of the greatest ideas ever.

The Monkey

Stephen King + Oz Perkins + a creepy monkey = my attention

The Bride

This stars two of the best actors of their generation (Gyllenhaal and Bale) as well as one of the most underappreciated actresses in the world (Jessie Buckley). Hard to ignore that caliber.

The Conjuring: Last Rites

This franchise needs to come to an end but that gets me so excited for this last ride for Lorraine and Ed Warren.

Marty Supreme

More Safdie excitement incoming with Josh Safdie’s mysterious new project with the hottest actor in the world, Timothee Chalamet.
